Birmingham Blogs launched!

Do you have a blog? Are you thinking of starting one? Birmingham Blogs aims to link to as many blogs at Birmingham as possible, maximising traffic to them and becoming a portal for blogging. If you have a blog you would like to see linked to from Birmingham Blogs (or even showcased), leave a comment on Birmingham Blogs with your blog's details (URL and purpose). Birmingham Blogs will hopefully become the first stop for anyone blogging about life, learning and teaching at Birmingham Uni.

Turnitin experiencing heavy usage

Message from the central e-Learning team:
Turnitin, the national plagiarism detection service, is currently experiencing heavy usage - apparently due to the large number of essays being submitted by students around the country at this time of year. Users may therefore find that the service is slow to respond when trying to access assignments or submit work through WebCT.
Advice is that if the page does not load at all then it is recommended that you wait a few minutes before trying to access the service again. Students concerned that their submission has not been received should check with the relevant tutor.
