“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” (Carl Rogers)

Reasons to be Cheerful (Part Nineteen)

Wentworth Castle - displaying wealth & power since 1727
A fantastic weekend school in Barnsley  with the Independent Working Class Education Network - A World to Win: learning from the past; making the future. Stunning place, stimulating topics, fantastic people, real ale, manageable hangovers - I feel like I already won the world...

Spending my birthday with my oldest friend walking in the Lincolnshire Wolds getting messages from more lovely friends and then getting drunk in Louth, where Steve in the King's Head said: "live simply, look after each other, always look after the old ones"

Being grateful not to have to do the Castaway thing because my face was aching with a shitty tooth - hurrah for dentists making us cheerful!

And finally, the Soup Nazi...

It's very important not to embellish on your order. No extraneous comments. No questions. No compliments

  1. BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY. Been down a big hole that has very little hole-ness within it :O(
so I have not caught up on your blog for weeks/months(?) perhaps, I have lost track.

A WORLD TO WIN - sounds great AND the manageable hangover the icing on the birthday cake :O)

Love the message from the Kings Head...

Don't think I would ever get soup, what do you think? :O)

  2. Thanks Kat!

Sorry to hear about the unwholesome hole you've been inhabiting - please let me know next time and I'll make sure the soup nazi personally brings you some soup xxx
